A rare and intriguing Ottoman Period document (19th century)

A rare official document of great importance, dating back to 1259 AH (1843 AD). 

The document contains a license in the Adsuqiyya method granted to Sheikh Sayed Ibn Ali Abu Salha from Egypt. It is signed by his teacher, Sheikh Ibrahim Ibn Mustafa Al-Makisi from Al-Sham, Syria and the teacher of his teacher, Sheikh Abdullah Ibn Sheikh Musa. The license is given on the authority of Sheikh Hassan Effendi Ibn Ibrahim, who was given the authority by his predecessor sheikh Muhammad Effendi Abu Al-Wafaa Al-Kilani Al-Rifai. This fruitful tree of predecessors continues until reaching Sheikh Abdul Qadir and Sheikh Qutb, all the way to the Emir al-Mouminin, Ali Ibn Abi Talib, may God honor him. 

The document was written and dated by Sheikh Muhammad bin Muhammad in the year 1259 AH (1843 AD) and bears the seals of Sheikh Mustafa al-Mukaisi. 

It measures 9 meters by 17 cm. It is in good condition although it has some wear and tear.

 

ألإجازة ألشريفة ألرفاعية ألقرن19

وثيقة نادرة رسمية في غاية من ألأهمية تعود إلي ألسنة ألهجرية ١٢٥٩ وهي عبارة عن إجازة في ألطريقة ألدسوقية منحت للشيخ سيد إبن علي أبو صالحة من مصر  وتم ألتوقيع عليها من طرف أستاذه ألشيخ إبراهيم إبن مصطفى ألمكيسي من الشام بسوريا  وأستاذه ألشيخ عبد ألله إبن ألشيخ موسى والذي اخذها عن الشيخ حسن افندي ابن ابراهيم وهو اخذ عن شيخه محمد افندي ابو الوفاء الكيلاني الرفاعي وتتواصل الشجرة ألمثمرة حتي الوصول الي الشيخ عبد القادر  و الشيج قطب وصولا الي امير ألموءمنين علي ابن ابي طالب كرم ألله وجهه. كتبها و ارخها الشيخ محمد بن محمد سنة 1259 هجري ألموافق لسنة 1843 ميلادي وتحمل أختام ألشيخ مصطفى المكيسي. ألمقاييس 9م على 0،17م
