19-20th century a part of Kufic Quran

This is a handwritten and colourfully decorated part of the Quran. The calligraphy is in red ink in the Kufic script. The subject heads are decorated with yellow bands. Around the calligraphy there are geometric and botanical decorations in vibrant blues, reds and yellows. It has a protective leather cover, that is beautifully decorated. This was probably added later. 

Period: 19-20th century

Dimensions: 30 by 40 cm, 128 pages
