18th century Islamic Astrolabe

This 18th century Islamic Astrolabe is made of brass. It has a hanger clamp at the top, a main chamber and five separate plaques. All of them have carved Arabic inscriptions on both sides like the twelve zodiac symbols and animal images. It also has references to the stars and sun. On the backside there is information for calculations, and a diagram of unequal hours, marked with worship hours.  

It is a piece of admirable artistic value that shows invaluable advanced science and Islamic religion in the 18th century.

Dimensions: 9 cm diameter and 15 cm in height.

It is in very good condition.
