This helmet is exactly like the ceremonial helmet of Sultan Fatih Mehmet worn during his conquest of Istanbul. The original is exhibited at the Military Museum of Harbiye.
On the helmet there are the text of the Surah of the Conquest (Al-Fatih)(سورة ألفتح) and the names of the four Caliphs. The calligraphy is by İsmail Hakkı Altunbezer, one of the late Ottoman calligraphers.
The art of illumination was used in the decorations, and the interior is covered with felt. It is adorned with stones of turquoise and red and green agate. It is designed and certified by a private art gallery.
A 22 micron coating has been applied on the golden helmet and it has been patented by the Turkish patent institute. The helmet comes with a certificate from this institute.
The helmet is in very good condition. Although on the left side of the helmet, there is a 3,5 cm long disfigurement due to sticking tape.
