An embroidered mantle of Sultan Mahmud Khan

( Sold after auction) A very large impressive and beautiful, 20th century Islamic, hand-crafted embroidery. The intricate embroidery is theresult of a labor of love by several people spending months working on it. Very much like the original one that was made in 1224 HD (1808 AD).

In the center of the embroidery is written that the honorable Sitar was commissioned by Mawlana Sultan Mahmud Khan bin Sultan Abdul Hamid Khan in the year 1224 HD (1808 AD).

On the right and on the left is Surat Al-Ikhlas. At the bottom is Surah Quraish and the circles bear the names of God on the left and right. In the triangle God the Eternal is written.  

The embroidery is 295 by 95 cm.
